Forutlie’s interior solution focuses on sustainability and acoustic design. Étamine required a workspace that not only met the functional needs of workers but also aligned with their sustainability philosophy. The result is a 300 sqm office that seamlessly integrates sustainable materials and acoustic solutions, with BAUX ceiling panels playing a central role.
Étamine’s new office features a modular arrangement around closed and open meeting spaces. Designed to support collaboration, the space includes an expansive open-plan work area, multi-functional meeting rooms, a relaxation space, and three private offices. All existing furniture was reused, reflecting Étamine’s commitment to minimising environmental impact and adhering to circular design principles.
The interior is anchored around the concept of bubbles – open and closed areas for meetings, socialising, and quiet work, each tailored with acoustic treatments that ensure sound is managed effectively to maintain a sense of focus. For Forutlie, this was the first time they had used BAUX materials on a project, and BAUX wood wool ceiling tiles have been used to define spaces and improve both the acoustic and aesthetic dimensions of the space.
Ductwork and piping in the ceilings have been left exposed, and white BAUX ceiling tiles have been used to create a clean, organic aesthetic while enhancing acoustics across both open and closed workspaces. In the open areas, the BAUX tiles were aligned to create a structured feel, while in the smaller rooms and private offices, the arrangement creates a sense of space in compact areas.
Ceilings are an often overlooked aspect of office design, but using BAUX ceiling panels, the design team has made ceilings a feature in this office space. The texture of wood wool tiles softens the space, introducing natural elements to the design. Our BAUX ceiling tiles come in three patterns and twenty-one colours, so there are plenty of options you can explore in this often underused dimension of interior space.
Sustainable materials are woven into all aspects of the design, and Étamine’s requirements for natural materials from sustainably managed sources were a perfect fit for BAUX’s long-standing commitment to sustainability. The durability of BAUX products ensures that ceiling designs will last and can be reused or adapted as the space evolves over time.
Forutlie’s interior solution showcases sustainable design that responds to both the acoustic and aesthetic needs of a modern workspace. Through the reuse and careful selection of sustainable materials, Forutlie has transformed a raw space into a vibrant, functional office.
