Project:

Clean energy through the power of water

The Alaknanda River in India has a hydroelectric power plant near Shrinagar, Uttarakhand, providing renewable and clean energy to the North Indian grid. This project saves CO2 emissions and helps reduce electricity shortfalls. By using a run-of-river system, the project minimises environmental impact. Hydropower plants generate electricity by harnessing the energy of water, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering carbon emissions.

These projects also improve energy security, create jobs, and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
