During Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW) May 2022, London’s annual celebration of architecture and design – BAUX created an interactive Acoustic Lounge on the upper floor of Old Sessions House – an 18th Century Palladium property in historic Clerkenwell Green.
The 3-day event saw the global launch of BAUX Wood Wool Ceiling. Curated content of themed talks, music, and a party in collaboration with ICON Magazine, sat within an ambitious scheme intended to encourage visitors to stay and work. BAUX Acoustic Lounge becomes a memorable highlight of the more comprehensive event.
Raw plaster walls, grand stairways, high domed ceilings and beautiful original architectural features set the scene, with the ambitious and highly creative project further establishing BAUX as a global leader in Sustainable Acoustics.
Before CDW 2022, Old Sessions House had been closed to the public for several years. The building, which was once a courthouse, had undergone a period of restoration, and a relaunch of the space in the Summer of 2022 saw the Grade 2 listed building reimagined as Knotel’s first ever ‘work club’. A mix of collaborative and quieter rooms to work and connect is carefully curated with modern and vintage furniture, bold artworks, dramatic plants, contemporary accessories, books, and finishes.
