The design concept for the Prologis Atlanta office is urban forest. Located on the 8th floor, workers have expansive views over Atlanta’s lush foliage. Office desks have been placed beside perimeter windows, providing employees with a tangible connection to nature. The design team has used BAUX wood wool materials to create an optimal indoor working environment and form a connection with nature outside.
As Prologis is a growing business, RMW has designed the interior with expansion in mind. At the heart of the main space, there’s a flexible area intended for future growth. This portal space is open on both sides and connects to the meeting rooms and desk space, with a lowered ceiling that feels like walking under a tree canopy. The portal can be used for meetings, collaboration and socializing.
In this portal space, BAUX materials have been used on the walls and floating ceiling. The wood wool BAUX designs reduce sound reflections in the human voice range, creating a quiet, homely space for work. The pinstripe design pattern of BAUX tiles reflects the linear tree trunks outside, creating a tactile mosaic that complements this light modern space. As BAUX materials are easily assembled and disassembled, the space can easily be adapted to meet Prologis’s future needs.
Close up, the wood wool patterning reveals organic textures that create a calm, nature-inspired environment. Light blue hues in the BAUX tiles counterbalance the rich terracotta tones of the exposed ductwork, a nod to Georgia’s distinctive red clay soil. BAUX’s wide range of colours provided the flexibility to achieve this colour balance.

RMW’s design philosophy for the Prologis Atlanta office prioritises neurodiversity and sustainability. Quiet spaces cater for workers looking for a calm environment, while larger areas support more dynamic group interactions. Sustainability was a key factor in RMW’s material selection, and BAUX’s products were chosen because they are sourced from sustainably managed forests.
Since its completion, the central portal area has been a popular space for workers and is frequently used for meetings and solo work. The BAUX designs have created a quieter, more focused work environment within the open-plan layout that’s fun to hang out in.
